Ingredients
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1 medium green cabbage
- 1 yellow onion, peeled and thickly sliced
- 2 large carrots peeled and cut in ¼-inch coins
- 2 tablespoons cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
- 2 tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar ??
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F
- In a dutch oven cook bacon until starting to crisp
- Remove bacon from pan and butter, oil, add cabbage, carrots, and onions
- Saute for about 2 minutes stirring occasionally
- Add salt and pepper(s) and stir to combine
- Put lid on pot and put i oven for about 1 hour
- Stir in vinegar and serve. I didn’t do this and it came out fine so I am not sure if this is necessary.
